Six trends having different shades of indigenous management are emerging or being promoted in Indian work organisations. They draw, in varying degrees, on three major traditions of knowledge: trans-national systems and principles of management, ancient Indian wisdom, and folkways of the people. The first two interface with the social settings to create the third one. Within each of them, there exist diverse ideas, approaches, and little traditions regarding most mundane and pragmatic as well as highly idealized world view.
