The problem about the Hindu indentity of India is an issue raised by the distorted secular politics of India which has been contaminated by the compromises of the pre-Partition
communal politics. It is therefore understandable that for reasons of contemporaneity that drives 'secular' India that the Hindu identity of India my be underemphasised. But in no event can the Hindu beginning and Hindu anquity of India be ever denied. This despite the fact that hardened sections of 'secular' scholarship may deny that there is anything
autogeneous to India like Hindu or any named ideal and assert that there was no named identity for India and that the identity.
